More Information:
Local jam bands Baghdad Scuba Review, The Grasshoppers, and Bu.R.P! have been confirmed to appear at The Majestic Theatre on Saturday, November 1st at the 2nd Annual Night of the Dead. The event falls on the Mexican holiday The Day of the Dead. Tickets are $10 prior to the show, $12 Day of show and are available through all Majestic Theater ticket outlets and at the Majestic Theater's website, www.majestictheater.com. The Show starts at 8pm with doors opening at seven. Falling on the week of Halloween, the event will have a political message and be an encore for costumes with a Grateful Dead musical theme.

All three of the bands have recently played to packed crowds at Madison's finest rock club, the High Noon Saloon. Last year, Baghdad Scuba Review and Run Side Down (now Bu.R.P!), played to a packed house at the first Night of The Dead, held at the Barrymore Theatre. This year we are excited to add the psychedelic jammers, The Grasshoppers to the show.

Baghdad Scuba Review is one of Madison's favorite bands. A group of highly politically driven musicians, the band's left wing message speaks for change in a city that is very receptive to it. They are known far and wide for their excellent Grateful Dead covers and vocally driven originals that all the hippies can get down to. They are a sextet (Hand Percussion, Guitar, Lead Guitar, Bass, Keys, and Drum Set), and this band throws down with their tight grooves and clean tones.

The Grasshoppers are no stranger to the Madison Music Scene. They have recently been melting faces at clubs all over Madison including t! he High Noon Saloon, Alchemy, and Harvest Fest but their music is not limited to the Madison area as they play at clubs throughout the Midwest with their brand of psychedelic prophecy.
Bu.R.P! is a fusion/funk trio formed after the end of Madison's Run Side Down, who co-headlined the show last year at the Barrymore Theater. Heavy funk and dance beats accompanied by screaming melodies has made this band a regular in the Madison Jam scene. This year's Night of the Dead, however, will be a bittersweet finale for the trio, as drummer Jon Reed will be moving on to pursue new endeavors.

Hey Scuba Crew,

This Saturday September 6th, BSR will be back at our favorite neighborhood bar Mr. Roberts. Come on out and have some fun.

Music starts at 10pm and the show is free.

The big news is that next Thursday we are back at the High Noon Saloon opening up the night for Outformation.

(Outformation is powered by Sam Holt, longtime guitar tech for Widespread Panic guitarist Michael Houser)

Thursday September 11
True Endeavors presents

Outformation
Baghdad Scuba Review

9:00 PM / $10 cover / $8 advance / 21 and up

All online ticket sales are will-call.

Outformation plays a hybrid brand of southern-fried jam rock that has quickly attracted a large following. In response to Outformation's auspicious entrance to the music world, the rising stars were named "Best New Band" of 2005 Honest Tune Magazine's reader's poll, and Tennessee Before Daylight was nominated for "Best Album" by the editorial staff of the same publication. But it's not just readers and writers of Honest Tune who have taken notice, with club dates selling out across the country it appears that fans of blue-collar, hard-nosed rock & roll are taking notice everywhere. Outformation has appeared at Bonnaroo, SXSW, Hi Sierra Music Festival, Magnoliafest, and Wakarusa, and their second album, "Traveler's Rest," includes collaborations with Widespread Panic and Mickey Raphael (of Willie Nelson's family band). Local jam-rock favorites Baghdad Scuba Review open the show.

BSR goes for gold at the High Noon Saloon

"It's amazing I won.  I was running against peace, prosperity, and incumbency." George W. Bush to the Swedish Prime Minister, June 2001

Hello Friends (and enemies, keep 'em close),

First off, some recent news......

Madison's favorite weekly publication, Isthmus, tackles the issue of protest music in its cover story this week, (8/15/08 Vol. 33 No. 33) "Alive and Screaming; Protest Music Endures in the iPod Era". BSR was featured as one of the bands still speaking out in a day where many people feel that politically poignant music has lost its fervor. Read the article by clicking here  or pick one up in print at various local Madison business establishments.

Some past shows.....

Thanx to everyone who came out to see us at Atwood Summerfest, we had a great time and all of the Bands that day Rocked!

Hey SCUBA CREW!

There is so much going on that we don't know where to begin! "I would say the best moment of all was when I caught a 7.5 pound largemouth bass in my lake." --George W. Bush, on his best moment in office, interview with the German newspaper Bild am Sonntag, May 7, 2006

Catch this!

Yes, yes....

We're BACK!  We are overwhelmed by the amount of people who attended this year to show their support at Summerfest '07!  We expected a great crowd, but not like last Thursdays!  Just as well, we had great success for our BuSRide to Summerfest last Thursday... (A HUGE THANKS to Fee for helping us out! ;)  We ended up being in a position where we were short the number of seats available verses the number of seats demanded!!!  Because of this, next year we plan on having TWO buses to cart your shakin' a$$es down to Summerfest!  So be on the lookout for news next summer on this!  First come, first serve!!!  BSR would personally like to thank each and every one of the "SCUBA CREW" for being part of this years adventure!!!

Now, we all know it's short notice but we're trying something new... this Tuesday we're playing an "unbuttoned" version of our regular show at Mr. Roberts.  Ladies and gentlemen; BSR at it's finest:  Uncut and uncensored!  (No, no we will not be performing in the nude.)  We're simply trying something new!  We're giving our fans something that we have never given them before -- unconstrained jams.  Yes.  We will be at our best behavior letting the music speak with intentions that will set you unrestrained.  Off the cuff, taking requests and performing in protrusion...

Baghdad SCUBA Review
LIVE
Tuesday, July 10th
Mr. Roberts Bar
2116 Atwood Ave
Madison, WI

Be well, be free and at best: just be.  See you tomorrow night!

"That's George Washington, the first president, of course. The interesting thing about him is that I read three -- three or four books about him last year. Isn't that interesting?" --George W. Bush, while showing German newspaper reporter Kai Diekmann the Oval Office, Washington, D.C., May 5, 2006

Wow!  That's interesting!  Did you ever know that about GW?  And I'm referring to George Washington.  (Har.)

Hey All,

Hope everyone is doing all right. Just a quick note here to about a couple of our upcoming shows.

Tomorrow night Saturday March 31st we will be playing at JT Whitney's Brew Pub on Madison's west side as part of a Benefit for the Madison Area Music Awards.

Copper Still Foundry will start out the night with a set of fine Wisco rock followed by BSR and then it's time for Logarhythm to turn up the heat with their blend of jam rock. There will also be a raffle going on with lots of great prizes and all proceeds from the night are being donated to local school music programs.

This should be a great night filled with good food, good beer and good music so come on out for a good cause.

If you can't make that show don't worry we will be in downtown Madison on Wednesday April 4th with our good friends Down Lo at the High Noon Saloon.

This is one of our favorite places to play in Madison so come on out and have a good time.
